From the job ad: "The University of South Carolina invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position in observational astronomy in the Department of Physics and Astronomy to begin August 16, 2015.  We are especially interested in extragalactic astronomy and observational cosmology, but will also consider applications from persons working in other areas of observational astronomy.

"The successful candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses, primarily in astronomy, as well as establish an internationally competitive research program involving students in research.  A PhD in observational astronomy/astrophysics with relevant postdoctoral experience is required.  The applicant should have a demonstrated research record and a commitment to excellence in teaching."
